Latest News on the Nigeria Customs Service Recruitment 2026

This latest news on the NCS recruitment centers around the Nigeria Customs Service Recruitment that was conducted in 2024/2025 and key developments that have taken place since the recruitment was first conducted in 2024.

They have approved 3,927 new officers, past phases like email verification and computer-based tests (CBTs) for different cadres (Superintendent, Inspectorate, Customs Assistant) held in late 2025, and ongoing official warnings against fraudsters and fake recruitment flyers. Candidates should check official channels (customs.gov.ng) and their emails for details, as the process is sequential, transparent, and requires no payment.

Please note: All applicants are to print their ACKNOWLEDGEMENT SLIP using their registered National Identification Number (NIN) used to submit their application in the box below to download their slip.

When is the NCS screening date and training?

It is general knowledge that the 2025 NCS recruitment for Inspectorate/Assistant cadres involved online exams held on October 9, 2025, while Superintendent candidates took their Computer-Based Test (CBT) on October 14, 2025.

Shortlisted candidates for physical screening and training (3–6 months) will be contacted directly, with updates available at updates.customs.gov.ng.

Documents Needed for Physical Screening and Verification

Based on information gathered, candidates invited for physical screening and verification of the Nigeria Customs Service must present the original and photocopies of the documents below:

  1. Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age: Original and photocopies (preferably National Population Commission certificate).
  2. Certificate of State/Local Government of Origin: Duly signed by the Chairman or Secretary.
  3. Educational Certificates: Primary School Leaving Certificate/Testimonial, and Senior Secondary School Certificate (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) with 5 credits.
  4. National Identification Number (NIN) Slip: Original and copy.
  5. Print-out of Application Form & Invitation Slip: Documents showing you were shortlisted.
  6. Completed Guarantor’s Form: Duly signed.
  7. Medical Certificate of Fitness: Obtained from a government-recognized hospital, valid for at least three months.
  8. Passport Photographs: Several recent copies (white background).
  9. Two White Flat Files: To arrange documents.

Cadre-Specific Requirements

  1. Superintendent Cadre: Degree/HND Certificate and NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate.
  2. Inspectorate Cadre: NCE or ND Certificate.
  3. Assistant Cadre: O’Level results.

Physical Screening Details

  1. Dress Code: White shirt, white shorts, white socks, and white canvas shoes.
  2. Checks: Height, chest measurements, weight, eyesight, and potential tattoos/deformities.
  3. Activity: Physical endurance training (jogging).
